made sand mold, the mold must be destroyed to remove the casting,
so that each piece is unique. This gives our brass products a
handmade look, not a factory one, reminiscent of the work done in
colonial America.

The Alloy Used To Cast Our Items Carefully Matches A Sample Taken From An Antique English Candlestick.
This alloy has the soft golden hue so favored during the
17th and 18th centuries. This special brass alloy is considerably
more difficult to cast and finish than the redder brasses
commonly found in imported items. Our production methods are
similar to those used in England and Virginia.

We Do not Lacquer Any Of Our Brass
Items (as explained on our brass maintenance page).
Lacquer wears off in time, and your brass piece will begin to
"spot-tarnish". Lacquered brass cannot be hand-polished which
gives it that wonderful natural luster .

Plain Background And Cropped Tightly To Show As Much Detail As
Possible. Unlike other similar sites where products are
photographed in situ thus minimizing the product size/visibility.
An example of this is the firetools photographed in front of a
beautiful fireplace, unfortunately these tools are then reduced
to occupying only 25% of the picture with the surround/background
taking up 75% of the picture. This can present unwanted hidden
surprises on delivery.
